Pumpkin Tote Bag
Free Crochet Pattern

 Materials: 100 grams black knitting worsted weight yarn
           50 grams orange knitting worsted weight yarn
           Small amounts of off white and green yarn
           5.00 mm hook           

Tote bag
Ch 39.
Rows 1 - 50: Sc in each sc across, ch 1 turn.
Row 51: Dec over beg 2sc of prev row,  
        Sc across to last 2 sc; dec over
        these last 2sc, ch 1, turn.
Continue as for row 51 until 8 sc remain.
Now proceed with handle of tote: Sc in each 8 sc
for 40 rows. 
Begin to increase at the beg & end of each row
until the front matches the back. Then continue
to work even rows until the length of this is the
same as the other side.

Using orange, sc the sides together of the front to back,
then across the bottom and up the other side. (This joins
the back to the front of the tote)
Continue with sc to trim the handle edgings with orange.

Pumpkin
Ch 10.
1st row: Sc in 2nd ch from hk and in each ch across. (9 sc) Ch 1, turn.
2nd row: 2 sc in 1st sc, 1 sc in ea of next 7 sc, 2sc in last sc, ch 1, turn.
3rd row: 2 sc in 1st sc, 1 sc in ea of next 9 sc, 2sc in last sc, ch 1, turn.
4th to 6th row: Continue as above with 2 extra sc in the row until 15 sc in
between. (19sc in row) 7th to 10th row inclusive: Sc in each sc across, ch 1 turn (19 sc in ea row) 11th row: Sc in ea of next 9 sc, ch 1, turn. 12th row: Sc in ea of above 9 sc across, ch 1, turn. 13th row: Decrease over the next 2 sc, 1 sc in ea of next 5 sc, decrease over the last 2 sc of row, ch 1, turn. 14th row: Decrease over the next 2 sc, 1 sc in ea of next 3 sc, decrease over the last 2 sc of row, ch 1, turn. 15th row: Decrease over the next 2 sc, 1 sc in next sc, decrease over last 2 sc. End off. Join yarn in 9th sc from other end, (leaving 1 sc in center of pumpkin) 1 sc in each of next 9 sc. Ch 1 turn and continue as from row 13th of other side of pumpkin. This should match other side. Leaves: Using green, ch 11. Beginning with 2nd ch from hk -
sc,hdc,hdc,dc,trc,trc,dc,hdc,hdc ending with sc in last ch. End off leaving enough yarn to use to sew onto top of pumpkin. Stem: Using off white, ch 6. Sc in each ch across. End off leaving enough yarn to use to sew onto the top of pumpkin to tote. Mouth: Using black, ch 12. Sew this piece onto pumpkin for mouth. Nose: Using black, handstitch a nose. Eyes: Using black yarn, ch 3. 10 sc into circle. End off leaving enough yarn to use to sew onto pumpkin. (Make 2)
